Question: What does a normal work-day look like for a business analyst professional?
Answer: A business analyst spends significant amount of his or her time with the client and in the client’s office. It may be in a different city, country or even continent. You will be participating and sometimes leading or facilitating numerous meetings such as kick off meeting or requirements specification meeting. During the day you will be mapping and reviewing business processes and requirements together with the business stakeholders. You have to develop an understanding of a project you work on. It is important to set the right expectation with your client. You will conduct many interviews to describe the current processes and understand the client’s problem that needs to be solved. Together with the client and the technical team you have to come up with the suggested solution. You also need to specify the requirements based on the meetings and the interviews. You have to put the requirements in a format that is reasonable format so that the technical team can start the project.
